Iain Parker and John Martin – CEO and Chairman of the CPSA respectively – have released the following statement advsiing clay shooter son the rules and guidance they should be following during lockdown number 3, which came into force on 6th January.
“All clay shooting grounds must temporarily close and all CPSA Registered Fixtures are cancelled following the Prime Minister’s announcement yesterday evening (4 January) that England is to go into national lockdown immediately (with force of law from 6 January).
As with previous lockdowns, we understand the disappointment this causes our members, who again must put aside enjoyment of their sport to come together with the nation to protect each other and the NHS. We thank our members for continuing their support during this difficult time.
Rest assured that the CPSA will continue to work with the government, police, and fellow associations so we can return to enjoying our sport as soon as possible.
Most importantly, we encourage you to stay safe and follow the government’s guidance. We have been here before, and with the distribution of new coronavirus vaccines, the end of this crisis is in sight.
We thank all who are continuing to work to get the nation through the pandemic, including medical staff, emergency services personnel, key workers, and many other unsung heroes.
We hope that you all are staying safe and well, and look forward to seeing you again at a shooting ground when this is all over.”
