The_Shooting_Diary, and Instagram page run by Paul Stewart and Blaine Nally, has raised over £17,000 and counting for NHS charities during the Cornoavirus pandemic
An Instagram page has managed to raise over £17,000 for NHS staff and volunteers via raffles giving away donated sporting prizes. Paul Stewart and Blaine Nally, who have been co-running The_Shooting_Diary for just under a year, have given away some truly incredible prize packages in the four raffles run since the Covid-19 crisis began. Frederic Hanner from Blaser donated a Sauer 100 rifle package for the second raffle, which really set the ball rolling for bigger and better prizes.
The most recent raffle, for just £10 a ticket, offered up an absolutely jaw-dropping 13 days of hunting and driven shooting (including pigeons, pheasant, boar and various deer species throughout the country), a brand-new Yildiz shotgun, 250 bespoke cartridges, a set of Vario’s latest earplugs, a pair of Delta optical binoculars, a head lamp, a handmade Razor Sharp knife, a shotgun cleaning kit, a Ridgeline jacket, a handcrafted collection of geese and duck calls, a £100 voucher towards a BASC course of your choice, a personalized game carrier, gold enclosure tickets for The Game Fair, a Spartan Sentinel tripod shooting system and bipod, personalised art work, a day’s professional photography at one of the shoot days in the raffle, the latest shooting back pack from Browning, a t-shirt, a leather shotgun slip, two pairs of House of Cheviot shooting socks, a pouch of fine cider, and (best of all!) a year’s subscription to Rifle Shooter.
Despite already raising such a grand total, Paul and Blaine continue to host raffles regularly on their page, and have some exciting raffles coming up with prizes such as a day in the pigeon hide and a DSC1 course; proceeds from these smaller flash raffles will go to various mental health and cancer charities in order to help others in desperate need during this difficult time.
Paul said: “I’d like to thank everyone who donated prizes for these raffles – from the bigger companies right down to the ordinary working man with a day’s pigeon shooting to give away, the generosity has once again shown the strength of the shooting community and what we can do. I’m grateful to everyone who took part.”
