Q
I really want to improve my improvised shooting techniques from the high seat or from sticks, and even freehand. But I am worried about creating too much noise during the day on my permission and also the cost of shooting dozens of premium centrefire rounds.
DOM HOLTAM replies: Why do you need to practise with your centrefire? How about trying out your techniques with a moderated .22 LR and subsonic ammunition? Or why not even with an air rifle? Cheap, quiet, recoil-free and, of course, great fun. And then, once you’ve mastered the basics, you can always confirm your results with the centrefire.
