The winner of our PetSpec gundog competition enjoyed a successful training day with Howard Kirby at Mullenscote Gundog Centre in October.
Derek Smith, from Shepton Mallet, brought his young springer spaniel Reuben along for the training day and was delighted with the outcome. “I’ve learnt so much,” said Derek. “I must admit I was a bit nervous when I got here, but Howard has been fantastic and really put me at ease. We had reached a bit of a plateau with our training, but Howard has helped us move on to the next level and I can’t wait to get out there and practise everything he’s shown us today. I’m really pleased – Reuben has achieved so much more than I thought he was capable of today.”
As part of his prize Derek also took home a year’s supply of PetSpec Professional feed supplement for working dogs.
