Scotland’s Down-The-Line shooting team has made history, winning the Home International championship for the first time since 1982. The victory came at Glenmoriston Estate Shooting Ground on Friday 18 July, where the Scottish senior squad beat England by just two points.

The competition brought together shooters from Scotland, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Wales. Scotland fielded a full team of 20 seniors, five ladies, five juniors, five veterans, and five super veterans.

The senior team’s consistency and determination proved decisive in securing the narrow victory, with James Bain, Richard Greenlaw, and Alvaro Pieri leading the charge with scores of 297 each. This performance ended a 43-year drought for Scottish DTL shooting. The triumph marks not just a return to the top, but signals a new era for the sport in Scotland.

This historic achievement will inspire the next generation of Scottish shooters and represents years of hard work and dedication finally paying off at one of Scotland’s most scenic shooting grounds.
