Time Well Spent Group has acquired the British Shooting Show (BSS), with founders John and Annie Allison staying on temporarily to help deliver this year’s show.
The couple, who built the BSS into what is widely regarded as the UK’s premier retail shooting exhibition, will remain closely involved to ensure continuity as ownership changes hands.
“After nearly two decades, it was important to secure the show’s future with a group that genuinely understands our world,” Mr Allison said. “Time Well Spent Group shares our values, our respect for the community and our belief in doing things properly.”
.
The show now attracts more than 200 exhibitors with 600 stands across three halls at Birmingham’s NEC, covering guns, optics, clothing and ammunition. Many retailers offer show-only prices.
.
This year’s show will run from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 February as planned. Simon K. Barr, chief executive of Time Well Spent Group, said: “The British Shooting Show is an outstanding event with a loyal audience and a strong reputation. We are delighted John, Annie and their team will continue to be closely involved.”
Time Well Spent Group, Europe’s largest outdoor pursuits media business, publishes Sporting Gun among other fieldsports titles.
