William Evans £10,000 Game Gun
William Evans gunmakers have launched a new over-and-under game gun called the St.James. This gun will retail for less than £10,000 and comes with all the high quality features and finish that the name is renowned for.The gun's design is at the forefront of today's fashions and was made in collabortion with the Italian specialist, Caesar Guerini.Duncan Cavenagh, Managing Director of William Evans states: "Interest in all types of shooting has increased tremendously in recent years as more people have come to recognise the enjoyment which this centuries-old sport has to offer. Traditionally, the majority of our clients have been game shooters and side-by-side shotguns have accounted for 70% of our new and pre-owned sales. However, with a younger generation coming into the sport, fashions are changing and over-and-unders now account for an increasing percentage of our sales in this sector, which is why we have chosen that style for the new model."Further details are available from William Evans Limited, tel: 020 7493 0415

DJ Litt in administration
12.05.08 – Newport gun dealer DJ Litt Ltd has gone into administration, leaving customers and suppliers across the country fearful of losing guns and cash. Speculation is rife that the company owes around £20 million.
Richard Hawes and Robin Allen of Deloitte were appointed joint administrators on Thursday 8 May and are seeking a buyer for the business. Treetops Shooting Ground, as an asset of Litts, is also up for sale. Richard said “The company is insolvent. We’ve been brought in to get control of the situation and deal with any claims that are outstanding.
“At the moment we’ve closed the doors for a full stock take so we can know what we’ve got. There are a lot of claims and it’s very complicated. We ask everyone who has an outstanding query to be patient as we’ve had 100s of calls, and every call needs to be looked into.”
Litts had claimed on its website to be "by far the UK's largest sporting gun retailer. Our product range exceeds 2000 lines including the UK's largest stock of Browning and Perazzi rifles and shotguns. We are also the largest Beretta stockist in the UK... one in eight cartridges used in the UK is sold by Litt's."
Any customer or supplier of Litts who is owed money or goods should call the hotline on 0787 666 4035. Customers who have ordered a GMK gun through Litts are advised to contact GMK Ltd on 01489 579 999.
