No serious wildfowler would be able to enjoy his or her sport without a decent pair of waders. These are made from superior 4.5mm thick neoprene with great stretchability. They are 100% waterproof and feature glued, stitched and fully taped seams. The elastic and adjustable suspenders have strong slim buckles; there is an innovative V-shaped front pocket with mesh compartments and water-resistant zippers; and a detachable flip-over zipper inner pocket with mesh compartments & spring.
The waders have reinforced 5mm embossed knee pads in Max5 Camo and are finished off with high quality 3mm-neoprene-lined rubber boots.
John Forsey is also very generously offering up not one but THREE annual memberships for the Kent Wildfowling and Conservation Association. The KWCA has shooting rights on the River Cam washes near Upware; on the Ouse Washes at Sutton and at Sutton Gault, and on the River Great Ooze near Cottenham. There are some wonderful wildfowling opportunities within easy driving distance of each other.
If you want to travel a further north to the North Norfolk coast the club has excellent opportunities available at Thornham, where it has over 650 acres of prime saltmarsh, and further east at Burnham where there are five miles of rights on the saltmarshes.
To the south into Essex the club has shooting land available in the Colchester and Southend areas, both inland and saltmarsh.
It goes without saying that the club has 1,000s of acres of shooting rights in Kent and East Sussex. All in all, membership of the KWCA offers shooting rights perhaps unrivalled by any other club in Britain, and certainly unrivalled in our region, and membership means that you will never again have to worry about where to go shooting.
Billed as the ultimate steel shot game cartridge, Eley Hawk’s VIP Lightning Steel is manufactured with a powerful blend of powders to achieve incredible performance while still conforming to CIP regulations.
The unique SSB+ 150 powder excels even in humid conditions and has been specifically crafted to ensure excellent ballistics with steel loads. The VIP Lightning Steel allows you to shoot at outstanding ranges with convincing knockdown power on the largest of waterfowl species. A perfect load for all large, 3” chambered semi-automatic shotguns.
Built for long, hard days in relentlessly wet weather, Ridgeline’s Monsoon Classic Smock is the perfect choice for wildfowlers, both on and off the foreshore. Totally waterproof, highly breathable and completely silent, it offers protection, durability and comfort.
The three-layer construction is silent and rustle-free, with a rugged front zip, stud-fastened storm flap and a fixed, adjustable hood with wired peak and chin guard. There is a large external chest pocket with stud-fastened flap and two large external hand pockets. The waist is adjustable via a drawcord and there is an extra-long scooped back for protection – perfect for those long waits sitting on the soggy marsh. Cuffs are Velcro-adjustable.
Available in a choice of Field Olive or DIRT Camo, Ridgeline’s Ascent Softshell Pants are the ultimate cold-weather trousers - perfect for keeping you concealed in the hide.
They feature a rugged polyester outer for superb abrasion resistance and durability together with a warm, high-wicking, grid-fleece inner.
Laminated between these two layers is a membrane which provides a Hydrostatic Head of 5,000mm in conjunction with a high level of breathability — the seams are not sealed so we can’t claim they’re ‘waterproof’ but they could certainly be described as highly water resistant. They’re also extremely quick-drying and warm when they’re wet. Needless to say, the whole fabric is silent.
They feature two large cargo pockets on the thighs together with two deep, zipped hand pockets — all the zips fasten with easy-grab pullers, making them straightforward to operate with cold or gloved hands.
Rugged belt loops and a tough, over-sized belt button combine to keep your trousers where they should be — up! Durable poppers at the ankles enable you to cinch the trousers tight around your boots.
Without your feet you can't go wildfowling, so look after them and keep them cool and healthy with Ridgeline's Cotton Rich Boot Sock. Available in: - 39-42 (6-9 UK) - 43-46 (9-12 UK)
The DIRT Camo Cap features a deep peak and a Velcro-adjustable rear. Perfect for remaining undetected from above until you need to take the shot.
Originally designed for a rifle, this gun slip is a great option for your wildfowling gun thanks to its extreme padding. Wildfowling guns need to be able to withstand a bit of a beating, and so too do the slips you carry them in! This one from Buffalo River has extra thick padding and a ribbed spine for extra protection and rigidity. Dual handles and a sling make it easy to carry on those long hikes across the saltmarsh and everything about it is heavy duty, including the zip.
The incredibly popular Sillosocks Pink-Foot/Greylag Geese and Canada Decoy packs come in a pre-made pattern of 8 feeding and 4 Sentry decoys. This is all you would need for a quick and effective set-up.
All Sillosocks decoys are incredibly lightweight and realistic. Professional pigeon shooters and goose guides all around the world use these decoys and consider them some of the best. The windsock design catches the slightest breeze to keep the decoy inflated and moving about to simulate feeding activity. This revolutionary design allows easy transportation thanks to their incredibly low weight – perfect when you are carrying them for miles across the saltmarsh!
Deploying them is quick and straightforward. Build a pattern to your liking or move them in changeable conditions with no fuss. In addition, the materials are non-glare and mimic the natural plumage of the bird they are designed to decoy. The materials are extremely hard-wearing and easy to clean.
