Shooting sports distributors GMK Ltd and rifle makers Sako have announced the launch of the Sako 6 Club and website – with sister title Rifle Shooter as partner.
The Sako 6 Club is an exclusive club for stalkers who have shot a male from each of the six UK wild deer species: roe buck, red stag, fallow buck, sika stag, muntjac and Chinese water deer.
Aims of the club include promoting the wide diversity of deer living in the British Isles and their proper management, and setting a national benchmark for stalkers to aim towards.
Anyone can sign up to take on the challenge using the club’s website – www.sako6.co.uk – and, once the goal of shooting all six species has been achieved, will be promoted from Challenger member, to Full member of the exclusive Sako Club.
The website provides information on the six species, facilities to monitor progress and upload photos, and a forum where hunters can relay their advancements and share tips and ideas. Verification of completing the challenge is by way of photographs, dates, and details of a character reference or witness to verify their claims.
