What bushcraft skills can I practice to keep myself occupied while on lockdown?

Q: Now that we are all stuck at home during lockdown, what can we do to improve our bushcraft?

JONNY CROCKETT replies: With forced isolation comes many opportunities! I’ve spent my time making sure my knives and axes are sharp and checked that my dry bags are still intact. I’ve repaired the loose stitching on my rucksack and on the cuffs of my waterproofs. The time in isolation has meant that I can also revise my foraging and has given me a chance to read articles that I’ve put in a ‘pending’ folder for months. With a handful of projects in mind, the next one will be making a shovel out of an equine spatular. Whatever you do, stay safe – the last place you want to end up right now is A&E.
