I shoot on really heavy clay soil and by the end of a day’s shooting, the bottom of the hide is like a quagmire. Any advice on how to combat this?
ANDY CROW replies: Shooting from a seat will help to minimise the amount of mess, but I don’t like to sit while I’m shooting. If it’s really bad, I will put a sheet of plyboard in the truck and use it as a temporary ‘floor’ for the hide. It might not be ideal if you are aiming to travel light, but it really does increase the comfort in those soggy fields.
