Why doesn’t Andy shoot ferals when out pigeon shooting? Surely he must get plenty of opportunities?
ANDY CROW replies: If I am out to shoot woodies, then I’d rather turn down the ferals and concentrate on the main event. You can’t sell the ferals and I don’t eat them. However, it just depends: if they are there in big numbers and causing a problem for me or another landowner then I will obviously shoot them, too. And if you are out shooting as crop protection for a local farmer and you are confident on your species recognition (make sure they aren’t stock doves) then the choice is yours.
